Assignments start becoming available Friday, January 11, 2008.
First-Time Freshman Students for Spring 2008
All
first-time freshman students requesting on-campus housing will be
given first priority for vacancies that will become available. Change requests will not be permitted
until after February 4, and will be limited due to the high number
of students requesting on campus housing for 2007-2008.

Late notifications are not uncommon for a small number of students.
The Department of Resident Life will purposefully wait to assign
some new students in order to be able to offer them the best options
that come open through late cancellation activity. While we understand
this can be frustrating, it is our hope to secure housing assignments
that are the most agreeable to new students. You may find out specific
information about your status and assignment by going to our web site and clicking on the Check
Housing Status link. This information is updated daily.

Students on Housing Waiting List for Spring 2008
We encourage you to check the information posted at Waitlist Update for Spring 2008
for up to date information concerning the waitlist.
No Longer Interested in On-Campus Housing?
Individuals who want to have their names dropped from the housing
waiting list, and new and returning resident students for Spring 2008
who no longer need housing should send their names, contact information
and a brief statement requesting cancellation of housing to
reslife@umd.edu . If you prefer, this information may
be faxed to 301-314-2026.
Please consult the Residence Halls/Dining Services Agreement for
detailed information about release procedures and applicable fees.
Waitlisted students do not incur cancellation fees at any time.
